About this deal

The centre LED will signal when the batteries need to be replaced. (as well as being view able in the app in settings - devices) Thanks I did this with both TRVs last night. Also put a spot of WD40 on the wee pin to make sure it moved more freely, and they now work Around 80% of homes will have a standard wallplate which makes installation really simple. A standard wallplate looks like this…

You can tap on a room and edit the schedule or access the room settings, where you can view the battery level for the thermostat, rename it and turn Open Window Detection on or off. Editing a schedule was made super-easy as a result of the ‘copy’ feature, which lets you duplicate a schedule with just one tap, rather than having to input it all for each day and on each device. Have been setting up my home CH/HW Drayton Wiser system, oil fired boiler, 9 radiator smart stat's, Hub and 1 wireless stat associated with one particular area to compliment radiator stat. Powered by two AA batteries, the smart thermostat can be freestanding on a table or shelf, or mounted on a wall. It has three touch controls on the front. The plus and minus button allow you to adjust the desired temperature of the room, while the middle button boosts the heating in said room by two degrees. The screen automatically goes to sleep after 15 seconds to conserve the battery, but pressing any of the three touch controls will wake it up.

I had a power failure and when Wiser powered up again I couldn’t see any measured temperature in the app and the room/radiator thermostats were unresponsive. Does it mean I have to recommission the system? Containing multiple sensors, the Wiser smart radiator thermostat can keep your room heated to a specific temperature that you set by either twisting the top of the TRV or using the app. For even more accurate room-to-room heating add a Wiser Smart Room thermostat to your system. I've been reinstalling our Wiser TRVs recently as we are going through the phases of a home renovation and had similar problems to yours OP, now resolved. once mounted you should just need to turn the TRV to the right for 2 seconds, you should hear the TRV close and that's the calibration complete

Both Worcester and Vaillant offer their own smart TRVS that are only compatible with their products. Advantages What are smart radiator valves? Can they work with your current heating controls? How much are smart TRVs? when the Hall, living room or bedroom TRV calls for heat it fires the boiler any room that doesn't have a means of controlling its temperature will be heated Devices can be reset manually at any time e.g.if the Heat HubR is replaced. To remove thedevice binding to a heating system allowing it tobe joined to another system do the following: Reboot. Reinsert the batteries after a short gap, e.g. 10 seconds. Make sure you get a strong red LED and that the solenoid electrically retracts the pin into the body to its maximum, so the TRV is fully open. If this does not happen, then swap the batteries out with others until it does.

The flame on my app/thermostat is displayed indicating the heating is on, however my boiler isn’t on. Is this normal? (WH) From time to time you may see in the Wiser Heat app that either a room is showing no temperature data, or a device is showing no signal. This can happen due to a variety of reasons listed below: However, it does have an Away Mode. Rather than switching the heating off completely while you’re out, this feature allows you to set a minimum temperature at which you want your home to remain at while away. If the temperature plunges below this threshold, the heating will spring to life – handy, if you're concerned about frozen pipes when you’re not at home. Out of interest, for others in the home that want to control the system on their phone, do you give them your login details and they log in to the app that way, or should they register as being 'not the home owner'?

I did manage to solve it. It turned out that the firmware of the HUB was old and this was the reason why it was unable to control the TRVs. In general, somewhat disappointed with the control characteristics of the system, can only describe the radiator stat's action as "on/off" control, can not see any attempt at achieving "proportional" action as was quite normal with the old dumb TRV's they are replacing, radiators are either piping hot or off, no modulated "in between" point. If you use the boiler manufacturer's own smart TRVs you only have to deal with one manufacturer for all your heating system products Drayton Wiser may be functional, but its plain all-white plastic design certainly isn’t stylish. If you prefer gadgets that make a design statement, this isn’t the smart thermostat for you.I have started facing similar issue quite frequently and it feels silly that the system which is working starts behaving like that Spare bedroom (mostly in the off position unless we have guests), bathroom, downstairs WC, hallways and kitchen have old dumb TRV's but that works for those rooms, we have them set to some mid point on the dumb TRV's and works nicely that they heat whenever something else is also calling for heat. Have achieved mixed results with the Danfoss conversions, some work well, others produce results much the same as reported in this post despite re-calibration, valve free-up & lubrication and smart head substitution, have come to the conclusion that the only long term solution for these devices is replacement of the valve bodies. Reading about the Drayton system the TRV heads are smart, and should learn when to open and close, this was a problem with Energenie they were not smart, so set to 16°C over night although rarely got that cold, and 20°C in morning it could be 11 am before room reached temperature, so I cheated and set to 22°C for an hour then to 20°C, the Drayton are claimed not to have this problem and they learn at what point to close so bring the room up to new temperature a lot faster, similar to the Nest wall thermostat. Well Nest took a couple of weeks to learn, so I would assume Drayton TRV heads would be the same. The final component, the smart radiator thermostat, is a white plastic cylinder, which fit to the radiator once the existing valve has been unscrewed. To manually override any schedules you may have set, simply swivel the top of the radiator thermostat right to start the radiator heating, or left to stop heating. An LED on the radiator thermostat glows red temporarily when the radiator is heating, and blue if it's been turned off. Turning and holding the radiator thermostat will also reset or put it into set-up mode, depending upon how long you hold it in that position.
