About this deal

Regardless, despite being laid-back on the whole and especially in the treble, I can’t say that the P5 sounds either recessed or rolled-off. With a battery life of around 17 hours they will last on long journeys and includes USB cable do you can charge directly from a laptop. Grado's pair feature an open design with a full sound that actually projects audio outwards as well as towards your ear, and the larger size of the Sennheiser pair offers exceptional low-end and precision. The P5s have no negatives and a lot of positives: stylish looks, comfortable fit, good isolation and most of all, superb sound quality.

With the sterling reputation backing the British audio company, I expected great things with the P5 Series 2.Low end has a deep meaty sub-bass extension which adds a nice level of rumble without overpowering the bass, mid-bass punch is fast and well controlled without crossing lower-mids threshold.

On the other hand, the Audio-Technica have a better-balanced sound and a more comfortable on-ear fit. That means you have to manually dig into Bluetooth settings on the phone and reconnect – an unnecessary few steps which are simple but get frustrating fast. Earcup is attached on one side to a solid curved chrome metal double wire that waves into the headband. It all started in 1955 with some ingenuity and later the company was officially formed at the urging of an elderly lady (Miss Knight) who apparently had a good ear for quality audio. Beside previously mentioned 90 deg rotation mechanism, earcups also have a degree of tilt to adjust to your ears/head shape. One tip: The P5’s sound quality varies noticeably with the position of the earpieces on your ears; a minor adjustment can really improve sound quality. View image in fullscreen The left ear cup has a microUSB port for charging and a power slider, which puts the headphones into pairing mode if held down for a couple of seconds.

The top end gives bite and attack, while still leaving plenty of breathing space for a song to reach its soaring crescendo. Comparing to V-Moda XS, P5 bass is head'n'shoulders above XS, while upper mids/lower treble is brighter and harsher in XS.In other words, would that nice mic **only** work in wired mode with an analog splitter, in BT mode I'd be forced to use the built-in-cup mic? Sound (8/10): There is no denying that the P5 is a brilliant portable headphone from a usability standpoint, but it also holds its own in sound quality against the other consumer-oriented sets in this lineup. P5W vs S1+ - S1 has a lot less sub-bass and mid-bass is less aggressive, lower mids are a little thinner and upper mids are a little brighter and slightly more detailed, treble has a better extension and a little brighter and crispier.

The P5 Wireless are well-crafted, wireless headphones with a sturdy build and a compact, easy-to-use design. The Bowers and Wilkins P5 Wireless headphones are very easy on the ears, thanks to an ergonomic design and a headband and earpads crafted from the finest quality New Zealand sheep's leather. I reviewed a number of their headphones in the past, and was always impressed with a quality of leather material, sexy wavy curves of chrome frame attached to earcups, concealed cable attachment (clever, but a bit time consuming), and a sound quality which I found to mimic analog tuning of full size speakers. However, they struggle to block the ambient noise of loud environments and won't be ideal if you have a busy daily commute or plan to take them on a noisy flight. While Apple users get the full advantage of playback and volume controls, Android users can only pause and play. The P5 Wireless can also be used in passive, wired mode—the left earpad easily twists off, and the included 3. In addition to the fold-flat design, short cord, 1/8-inch miniplug, and iPhone mic/remote module, the P5 is easy to drive: Unlike many full-size headphones, which require more juice to sound their best than an iPod or computer headphone jack can provide, the P5 was engineered to sound great directly out of a portable source. But if you are looking for premium luxurious headphones and craving high quality wireless audio performance – P5 Wireless sounds as good as it looks! Since I have been mentioning P7 in comparison reference, I figured to summarize it with a few other headphones.
