About this deal

LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, DUPLO, the FRIENDS logo, the MINIFIGURES logo, DREAMZzz, NINJAGO, VIDIYO and MINDSTORMS are trademarks of the LEGO Group.

Nevertheless, I’m reading the excellent The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt by Toby Wilkinson right now, in which I find the chaotic Intermediate periods especially fascinating. Despite a lifelong fascination with archaeology and ancient history — and even a trip through Sinai, Cairo, and Karnak at age 19 — I must admit that Egyptology has never been particularly interesting to me, obsessed as its public portrayal is with glittering treasures and kingship.

A lute-playing, tattle-telling teacher’s pet, Martin Prince is the smartest kid in Bart’s class, a fact that he proudly mentions whenever possible.

There are a lot of things that Lego fans could remember with this set and a lot of details from the old theme, but it is not only for adults but for all ages, this is the way I try to introduce to new generations my love for this historical period. Even though it’s tucked away to the right, the designs on the sandstone building are intricate and fit right in with the medieval setting.

It’s worth noting that these sets proved very popular, so much so that in 1999, LEGO released the Adventurers Jungle series. I've posted a few pictures above to show the size and detail) but it's still a fantastic piece of kit and it has a lots of play value. However, after a great deal of discussion, The Brothers Brick is delighted to announce Koen Zwanenburg‘s Tutankhamun Mask as our LEGO Creation of the Year 2020. King Tut™ was a simple Egyptologist until an accident left him convinced that he was the genuine ruler of ancient Egypt.

Now, although there were other sets in this series, these are the ones worth mentioning in terms of the Egypt side of things. After watching a fantastic series following Egyptian archeology and discoveries, I learned of the ancient game of Senet.

As they discover the golden headdress hidden in the dark depths of Pharaoh Amset-Ra’s pyramid, the brave heroes go face-to-face with the evil mummy horde. Simply put, it pays homage to the early Adventurers themes, and although it is mainly marketed as a spooky fairground attraction, you can clearly spot the references to Adventurers. This LEGO Ideas submissions is inspired by those temples and brings to you a colorful manifestation of ancient Egypt. Charles Lightning, Johnny Thunder, Lord Sam Sinister, Miss Gail Storm, Pharaoh Hotep, and a skeleton mummy.
