About this deal

I would even go as far as to say it was one of my favourite horror stories and I would highly recommend it. Aside from all these wonderful things that made me love Frozen Charlotte, do you know what my favourite thing was?

I mean I liked Sophie but there was nothing particularly special about her and aside from Piper none of her cousins seemed to be particularly fleshed up. Little did they know what they were about to unleash and in some very frightening first opening scenes I knew exactly what I was in for during this book, or at least I thought I did. Jay was a beloved friend who could have become a beloved boyfriend and the missed chance is what propels Sophie to put herself in danger, despite her better judgement. I'm not a massive fan of anything to do with talking/killer dolls so even I found the frozen charlottes a little creepy. This cheery song in turn inspired the creation of the real Frozen Charlotte dolls – solid china dolls made from around 1850-1920, ranging in size from an inch to 18 inches.

Now, I don't know, if as a parent, seeing my child's grief, I would have gone and left them, regardless of how much I paid for a ticket. Sophie may be the main character in the book but she did not really appeal to me as a character; even though she was like me, blaming herself for things that were not her fault.

The house doesn't seem all that it lives up to be, it has a dark past which no one is willing to talk about. I don’t want to give anything away, but I found most of the characters extremely unsettling, which I think is a great strength in this genre… you don’t read horror for a relaxing and comforting ride with a predictable bunch of people! She had no good backstory and it was hard for me to understand her motive and drive with her craziness.

The creepy 'Frozen Charlotte' dolls in this book make Annabelle and Chucky look and feel like Howdy Doody! Intent on finding Lola, Drew finds help in an unlikely ally, Lola’s best friend, Autumn, who is the sheriff’s daughter.

Sophie can immediately sense something's off about this entire place, but can't put her finger on it, and assumes this is just her grief and guilt over Jay's death creating all these dark and somber images. As she has a lot more experience than I do in this genre, I have asked her to review this for Fedora. uk/ For more details about this and other books in the Red Eye series, and Bell’s follow-up, The Haunting, visit the publisher’s homepage at: www. Sophie is still mourning over her best friend’s death that took place hours later after Jay and Sophie played with the ouija board which was a good exposition. Full of plot twists and turns and creepiness by the barrel full, if you like a read that will keep you guessing and get your heart racing - you've found it --Bookaholic Confessions --I really enjoyed Frozen Charlotte – it was just so different from anything I’ve read in YA recently, and was exactly the right dose of horror I needed. I also felt like the author had a bit of a problem establishing the ages of the characters as they all felt either older or younger than they were, I spent most of the first half of the book thinking Sophie was 13! Zoella Book Club pick Frozen Charlotte is a creepy and suspenseful horror story based in an old boarding school on the Isle of Skye. The truly horrifying YA books really get to me, and i keep thinking something or someONE is going to creep up on me and kill me or something! When Sophie and Jay play around with an ouija board app that Jay has downloaded to his phone, things go awfully wrong.
