About this deal

Dungeons of Death includes one traditional foil Nihiloor, plus one nonfoil Minn, a Gnome Wizard and master of illusion who delights in the company of her semi-imaginary friends. Draconic Rage is a clunky but powerful deck that can really pick up steam in the midgame and quickly overwhelm the other players at the table. Colossal Majesty requires a board presence for it to draw a card, but Outpost Siege guarantees a card, and the “Dragons” mode of the card is one the deck will choose frequently, since it can trigger Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients ’s Enrage ability multiple times. Despite its clunky nature, Draconic Rage can still function and achieve its goals and win conditions. That's Rishkar's Expertise or Rampaging Baloths territory, both of which are far more impactful than Wild Endeavor.

Even in the failure case, you can force your opponent to block with creatures they don't want to; just be aware that they can still add additional blockers to the mix afterward.

Casting big old Creatures can be expensive, but with Goblin Anarchomancer, you can save yourself a little bit of mana each time. You may put any number of permanent cards with mana value X or less from among them onto the battlefield. I’m not entirely convinced since so much of the card’s effectiveness relies on your opponents being willing to destroy enchantments or artifacts between them thanks to a card that you cast. Get a traditional foil Klauth on your side with Draconic Rage and you’ll also find a nonfoil Wulfgar of Icewind Dale—famous friend of Drizzt Do’Urden and wielder of the magical warhammer, Aegis-fang. I already didn't like Fractal Harness, and Sword of Hours has the exact same problem in that Hydra's Growth exists.

Rhythm of the Wild is a three mana Red and Green Enchantment that makes it so that your Creature spells can’t be countered.

That’s already a pretty powerful ability, but it also gives all of your nontoken Creatures riot, which means they enter the battlefield with either haste or a +1/+1 counter on them.

There are also spells that add large bursts of cards in the form of Rishkar’s Expertise , which requires one large creature to have a massive impact, and Shamanic Revelation , which needs at least 3 creatures to be worth casting. With all the mana you’ll be making, you’re going to have a hard time spending it, so we’ve included a couple of very potent mana sinks for you here. Consider it in Commander decks like Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice; Skullbriar, the Walking Grave; and Marchesa, the Black Rose.it does have some land problems, took out a few forests and put in more dual land/mountains i got in the real cheap arena starter deck.

Fielding fewer yet larger threats is easier to accomplish -- Gruul loves playing an even bigger man -- but it leaves you more susceptible to single target removal blowouts. We use necessary cookies to allow our site to function correctly and collect anonymous session data. If a creature like Master of Cruelties would assign no combat damage, which is different than preventing it, it still won't work because it's treated as if there was no combat damage at all, similar to attacking with a 0-power creature. Heliod's Intervention stapled to the aftermath of Heaven // Earth is spectacular and worth the extra mana for the convenience, especially if you're fielding a deck full of flying creatures.

This card does get much worse the longer the game drags on, so be prepared to pitch it if it gets to that point. Commander newcomer Dragonborn Champion makes pushing through damage that much more brutal for opponents, but rarely enters combat itself. Wizards, since 2018, you have printed fourteen commanders that double triggers, double spells, or double counters when they're on the field. Lastly, make note that neither Vrondiss nor their tokens have evasion, so I’d probably find room for ways to give all creatures trample.
